The Norwegian Association of Engineers and Technologists is Norway’s largest professional organization for engineers and technologists with over 113,000 members, and over 15,000 student members.
We are following up on last year’s success and would like to invite you to nominate candidates for the NITO Prize 2025. This is an award that will be presented to the year’s best bachelor’s or master’s thesis in engineering and technology. All relevant colleges and universities in Norway receive this invitation, and each institution can nominate up to two candidates. The goal of the award is to highlight a thesis that highlights key challenges and that the institution considers to be academically strong. This year, we are looking for candidates who have excelled in one or more of the following areas:
- Innovation
- Complexity
- The major societal challenges
- Sustainability
After the candidates have been received, a NITO jury, led by Selda Ekiz, will select the winner based on the submitted papers. The winner will be presented at NITO’s national meeting on 26–27 November and will receive a prize, as well as a cash prize of 50,000 kroner. The winner will be promoted in NITO’s own channels and forums, and we also invite the educational institutions to promote the winner in relevant channels and media.
The deadline for nominating candidates is 15 September 2025. Candidates can be nominated by sending an email to nitostudentene@nito.no with the candidate’s paper and a note with an assessment of the paper. Following this, the jury will select one winner from among the submitted candidates from the various educational institutions.
We hope that this attention will help create more attention around engineering and technology subjects across the country.
Med vennlig hilsen
