Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a nice autumn break.
We’re already halfway through October, and it certainly feels like the end of the semester is approaching. Towards Christmas, we have many important and exciting events happening at BIO. Two major center applications coordinated from BIO have submission deadlines in November—good luck to everyone involved in the final efforts for the SFF and the Centre for Sustainable Land Use and Nature Management applications.
Later in November (20th), the Plastics Network will host the “Microplastics Conference” here at BIO, and registration is already open. The last week of November and the first week of December will be busy for us. On Tuesday, 25 November, this year’s teachers’ retreat will take place. This time, we’ll stay in Bergen for a one-day event, and we hope as many as possible will join this important gathering to further develop our teaching.
On Monday, 1 December, we look forward to the Early Career Community’s (ECC) first major BIO conference at VilVite. Save the date—46 presentations are registered, so this will be a great opportunity to see a broad representation of the research being carried out at BIO and among our closest collaborators. The day after, the semester’s Poster Symposium will be held. This is BIO’s own event and, as before, will take place at VilVite.
That same week, on Friday, 6 December, we’ll gather for this year’s Christmas party at Laternen, right in our neighborhood. Those who joined last year know what a fantastic event it was, and we hope for even more participants at this year’s big social gathering at BIO.
In addition, we’ll have our HSE Day, and the final bioTHURSDAY of the year will be a bioCHRISTMASLUNCH. Busy and eventful times ahead! I look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks.
Have a wonderful week!
