On Wednesday, October 22, some twenty happy BIO’ers volunteered at the Marine Biological Station (MBS) at Espeland in Fana with support from UiB’s Climate Fund. During the day, a garage was demolished by the parking area, the barracks in the same place were emptied of electrical installations and equipment, the area from the living room/balcony in the dormitory and down towards the sea was cleared of forest and undergrowth, and a floor and various discarded equipment were removed from the old boathouse – where we hope to be able to arrange for indoor field teaching in the next round, especially when the weather is bad.
Both the desire to work and the mood were absolutely impeccable throughout the day and Thomas and Frank, who have daily responsibility for the station, were extremely satisfied with the work done. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed! And we have a new application in to the Climate Fund and hope to do much more good work at the station next year!

Nina Hølland, Julie Skavdal, Vetle Holen and more cleared the area from the dormatory to the sea by removing trees and bushes at an impressive speed.
