For students, the minimum length of stay in the USA is one academic year, with the following exceptions:
• PhD students (recipients) can apply for a grant for a stay of at least 4 months.
• students in a 5-year teacher training program can apply for a grant for a stay of at least 4 months in the USA. This assumes that they have a degree equivalent to a bachelor’s by the summer before departure, and that the subjects taken in the USA are at graduate level.
