Eco-Dialogues: Infinity lab – Art and Science workshop at BIO Saturday 26th April

Photo/ill: Freya Coursey & Fergus Tibbs

Infinity lab is a workshop and conversation beginning in a lab at The University of Bergen, Department of Biological Sciences, and ending at The Unfinished Institution artist studio collective in Laksevåg. It is part of Eco-Dialogues, a collaborative event series by ecologist, Freya Coursey and artist, Fergus Tibbs which explores meeting points between scientific and artistic practices.

Together with guest contributor Alex Hamish Millar, you will engage in playful tasks as seeds for collective discussion, reflecting on philosophical problems related to infinity and consciousness—accompanied by a collection of animal specimens from the department’s archives. You will continue on foot to The Unfinished Institution, an artist studio collective where the conversation will continue over a home cooked meal.

Alex Hamish Millar is a Scottish artist based in Bergen working with sculpture and installation. Influenced by mythological and religious symbolism, Millar’s work speculates on the function and meaning of objects to question ideas of time, nature and technology.
