GC Rieber Drift informs that many UiB employees have access to the bicycle garage but do not use it. We also refer to the survey sent to employees at Informatics and Bio before Easter. This survey shows a significant discrepancy between the number of responses indicating a need for bicycle parking and the number of access cards with access at GC Rieber.
For safety reasons, it is desirable to clean up the accesses. As a measure, all accesses to the bicycle garage will be closed from 01.08.2025.

BIO will create a list and forward it to GC Rieber Drift within the next week. UiB and the property companies associated with UiB are working to find a separate solution for bicycle parking for employees at Thormøhlensgate 55 and 53 A/B. Various locations for bicycle houses are currently being considered. In the meantime, bicycle parking at GC Rieber will be offered as it is today. Access to the bicycle garage will also continue to provide access to the changing rooms.
Employees with workplaces at Thormøhlensgate 55 and Thormøhlensgate 53 A and B are encouraged to use the newly renovated changing rooms in the basement/shelter at Thormøhlensgate 55.
Here, there are lockable lockers as well as shower and toilet facilities. Today, there is very good capacity.
