Visit from Hokkaido University September 2nd

On Tuesday, September 2nd, our department had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Faculty of Fisheries Science at Hokkaido University, led by Dean Yasuaki Takagi, Professor Munetaka Shimizu, and two colleagues. During their visit, the delegation met with our Dean, Gunn Mangerud, and Head of Department, Ståle Ellingsen, for formal discussions on ongoing collaborations, new opportunities for joint academic and scientific initiatives, and ways to further strengthen institutional partnerships.

The visit also highlighted more than a decade of successful collaboration developed through the research groups of Tom Ole Nilsen and Ivar Rønnestad, which has laid the foundation for a strong and enduring relationship between our institutions.

A particularly significant moment was the formal presentation of a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor position at Hokkaido University, awarded to our researcher, Floriana Lai. This appointment marks an important step forward in our shared commitment to advancing education and the field of fisheries science.
