On Thursday, 18 September, we conducted a fire drill in the buildings at Thormøhlensgate 53A and B. All employees evacuated the buildings within 4 minutes and 27 seconds – very close to the record from 10 April 2024, which was exactly 4 minutes. This is well within our goal of completing evacuation in under 5 minutes.
Everyone proceeded to the assembly point by the propeller and stayed out of the driveway, just as they should. The drill took slightly longer than usual due to a fault discovered in the alarm system in Block A: the alarm was not audible in some of the rooms. The operations team identified and fixed the issue before the drill was concluded.
Despite this, everyone was back to work within 15 minutes of the alarm being triggered. This means we are still meeting our unofficial goal of keeping fire drills as minimally disruptive as possible, to ensure that they are taken seriously and that evacuation happens quickly. It’s much easier to go straight out when you know you’ll be back within a quarter of an hour.
Many thanks to everyone who contributes to the safety of their colleagues and themselves by taking fire drills seriously. It’s great to see that we care for one another!
