Today, as an importer, you can send the advance notification after the goods have crossed the border, as long as the Norwegian Food Safety Authority receives the notification before arrival at the receiving location. From 1 October 2025, this notification must be sent and received by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority before the goods cross the border. The change is an adaptation to the Norwegian Customs Administration’s new customs procedures and the introduction of Digitoll.
