“Marinebroen” [the naval bridge] – information about ongoing construction work around Biologen / Høyteknologisenteret

The department is in dialogue with the University and the contractor regarding the construction work that is starting up on the seaside of Biologen/Høyteknologisenteret these days. We recently received this message from contractor Consto Anlegg Vest AS, concerning the barge placed at the dock, the barracks located between the A and B blocks and the construction work which is planned for the next few weeks:

Hei.

As you may have noticed, we have now set up the rigging for the construction work that will take place for the establishment of the new Marine Bridge. A barrack rig has been established between Thormøhlens gate 53 A and B and construction fencing has been erected around the construction area. It has also been prepared for piling work and the piling contractor is in place with his equipment on a barge. We have had some trouble starting drilling, but we are working to resolve the problem. We hope to start drilling tomorrow, and there will be some noise in connection with this.

Five steel pipe piles will be drilled from the barge that is on the fjord. We will start with the pile closest to Thormøhlens gate 53A. Depending on the ground conditions, the work of drilling the piles will take approx. 20 working days. When the work of drilling the steel pipe piles is finished, minor excavation work will be done on the quay outside Thormøhlens gate 53A. Concrete work will also take place with the casting of the drilled steel pipe piles and the bridge deck. The actual bridge assembly will take place in the spring of 2026. We hope the construction work will not be too much of a nuisance for you. Please contact us if you have any questions.
