This year’s application round for funds and bequests from various foundation at UiB is underway.
There are a number of foundations that have research and teaching at UiB as their statutory purposes.
Each year, the foundations announce funding that both employees and students can apply for. The largest of these foundations is the L. Meltzer University Foundation, and there are also about 25 other foundations (including Bergen University Foundation) from which funding can be applied.

The application deadline for most funds are 1. December 2025.
This also applies to the L. Meltzer universitetsfond, which in addition to three research prizes also awards support for research term, scientific research activities including travel, and project grants to students and PhD candidates at UiB.
