The Ministry of Education has asked the Research Council to reduce the number of applications and to introduce measures that limit the use of resources by applicants and the Research Council. The target is 25% approval, and two important main measures are now being introduced for FRIPRO.
- NFR will replace the annual application deadline with ongoing application processing and a waiting period of one year.
- NFR will introduce a quarantine period for applications that receive marks below given limits, so that these must wait one or two more years before they can apply again. The grade requirement to avoid quarantine will be lower for the call for Research project for young talents than for the call for Research project for renewal.
