The State Department is planning two summer programs for students at the bachelor level. One is on Civic Engagement and will be held at Michigan State University. The other is on Environmental Issues and will be held at Shippensburg University (Pennsylvania). These 4 week institutes provide a special, all-expenses covered stay in the US for in-depth exploration of each topic through academic study and hands-on experiences.
Please note that these institutes are open to college students in any field who are highly motivated and who “demonstrate leadership through academic work, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.” They also have to have at least one semester of study to complete upon return.
