The meeting brought together researchers who use both quantitative and experimental methods in virus ecology and evolution from around the world (New Zealand and New Caledonia included), and it was a very successful meeting with room for good discussions. The main focus was viruses in the marine environment, but parallels to insect and vertebrate host systems were also drawn. The meeting was organized as part of the project ConFect, which is financed through NFR’s INTPART programme. The meeting was organized and chaired by Ruth-Anne Sandaa and Selina Våge on behalf of CONFECT.
