The grant scheme is primarily intended to help cover costs for obtaining a knowledge base for sustainable harvesting of the wild marine resources, but can also, after a specific assessment, be used for other knowledge gathering to fulfill the purpose of the Marine Resources Act.
Note the following:
- The subsidy shall only cover costs linked to the use of vessels and other extra expenses in connection with voyage activities.
- The grant can cover a maximum of 50 per cent of the costs of the research project, and support is only given for real costs that are not financed through external funding.
Given these funding rules and max 50% allocation, applicants wishing to apply should have plans or funding in place to cover the remaining 50%.
