As many of you know, the plans for
“UiB Realfaghøyden” are steadily moving forward. Recently we passed another important milestone: the external quality review of the concept study confirms that our preferred solution is clearly the strongest. What remains is the final political decision that will allow us to start the pre‑project phase of this major building and renovation effort. The goal is to secure funding through the state budget in 2027 (a parliamentary appropriation).
Moving this political decision forward takes effort. It involves hosting visitors, showing them around, and explaining the importance of our research and education. Thank you to everyone who contributes!
Three times a year, we hold formal doctoral graduation ceremonies in the University Aula. This Friday, we will celebrate the new doctors who defended their theses between August and November 2025. Our faculty will present 20 new doctors at the ceremony. These events are always a pleasure as a dean and serve as a great reminder of our mission – and not least, the wide range of research areas we represent.
