- This Monday, we met with the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo and her team to exchange experiences, discuss the current situation in STEM – and talk about our collaborative platforms such as the Quantum House ( Norsk kvanteklynge), CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) (Norwegian Centre for CERN Research | DEN NORSKE CERN SIDEN), Polhavet 2050, and other issues of joint interest.
- Also this Monday, nearly 500 upper‑secondary students visited us on Open Day.
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who helped make it happen! - On Tuesday and Wednesday, we held the final seminar of the Gender Act2 project, funded by the Research Council of Norway. Our goal is to secure a research environment that genuinely embraces equality and diversity. In academia, it concerns representation and equal opportunities to enter and pursue a career within the academic system – an objective grounded in both democracy and fairness. During the seminar, we encouraged the departments to apply for funding in the next call (Balanse-programmet). It is essential – going forward, that this work is anchored in, and genuinely owned by the research groups themselves, if it is to succeed.
