Velkommen til nytt NT AI Utdanningsseminar – GenAI ved UiB: Hvordan bygge en sikker og praktisk plattform for undervisning

Flere og flere undervisere ved UiB utforsker nå hvordan generativ KI kan brukes i undervisning og læring, for eksempel som ‘Chatboter’/digitale assistenter. Samtidig må vi sikre at KI brukes på måter som beskytter studenters personvern, følger lovverket og oppleves trygt for faglig ansatte. I dette foredraget vil professor Kirsty Kitto (SLATE) presentere arbeidet som AI LEARN gjør for å utvikle en sikker og brukervennlig KI‑plattform for UiB. Eksempler fra andre universiteter vil bli vist — som demonstrerer både hva som er mulig, og hva som kan gå galt. Målet er å gi et realistisk bilde av mulighetene og hva UiB trenger for å bygge en trygg og hensiktsmessig infrastruktur.
Innspill fra deltakerne vil også bli samlet inn: Hva trenger undervisere ved UiB for å bruke KI på en god måte? Disse ideene vil tas videre i arbeidet med IT‑avdelingen.

Welcome to a new NT AI Education Seminar – GenAI at UiB: How to build a safe and practical platform for teaching
Professor Kirsty Kitto, SLATE (Centre for the Science of Learning & Technology)
More and more teachers at UiB are now exploring how generative AI can be used in teaching and learning, as Chatbots. At the same time, we must make sure that AI is used in ways that protect student privacy, follow the law, and feel safe for academic staff.
In this talk, professor Kirsty Kitto (SLATE) will present the work that AI LEARN is doing to develop a secure and easy‑to‑use AI platform for UiB. Examples from other universities will be shown — demonstrating both what is possible, and what can go wrong. The goal is to give a realistic picture of the possibilities and what UiB needs in order to build a safe and suitable infrastructure.
Input from the participants will also be collected: What do teachers at UiB need to use AI in a good way? These ideas will be taken forward in the work with the IT department.
