Hi! My name is Bigna Lu Abderhalden and I recently started my PhD at UiB, with Inger Elisabeth Måren (UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Heritage and Environmental Management) and Øyvind Paasche (NORCE) as my supervisors. My project is connected to the Centre for Mountains in Transition and will focus on perceptions and valuations of mountains in change and how to strenghten socio-ecological resilience in mountian regions.

A little bit about my background: I am Swiss, studied landscape planning in Germany and got stuck in Scandinavia after my Master in Ecology in Umeå, Sweden. I spent the last year working as a research assistant at Gothenburg University, working with Arctic plants and am now excited to start my own project!
