On Tuesday this week, the University Aula was filled with our students and their families. Three graduation ceremonies were held for the faculty’s different programmes: First, the bachelor’s ceremony, where 150 students received their diplomas. This was followed by a ceremony for our five-year programmes (101 students), and finally the master’s programmes (176 students). These ceremonies are an important recognition of our student´s achievements. They formally acknowledge years of hard work, dedication, and academic growth, and mark the end of an important chapter in their lives. It is truly an honour and a joy to meet and address the graduates – one of the highlights of being a dean!
We also hope that the ceremonies help strengthen a sense of belonging to the faculty as an academic community and alumni network, which can be valuable for future connections and opportunities.

The Faculty Board held its meeting on Thursday. Please follow the link below to view the items which was on the agenda: The Faculty Board meeting 10.06.2026.

I also have the pleasure of announcing that this year`s “Formidlingspris” was given to Professor of space physics, Kjellmar Oksavik from the Department of Physics and Technology. Over time he has established himself as an expert in space research in Norway through national media. He has also demonstrated an impressive commitment to reaching new audiences where they are, for example on TikTok. Congratulations, Kjellmar!
