Student volunteering is incredibly important to the faculty. It is therefore a great pleasure to announce that the faculty’s student sports association, NTI, continues to grow. Since its establishment in 2025, NTI has experienced rapid growth. At the start of this academic year, the association launched four new activity groups and estimates that its membership has increased by more than 100 students. NTI was highly visible during our Welcome Week, and we are really impressed by both its growth and visibility, as well as the professional work carried out by the students who run the association. NTI makes an important contribution to student belonging, wellbeing, and an active student community. A big thank you to everyone who makes this possible through their dedication and involvement!
Students who choose STEM subjects in upper secondary school currently receive additional admission points when applying for higher education. From 2028, the STEM subject points awarded in upper secondary school are planned to be reduced by half. Now, however, it appears that our concerns are being heard. The Minister stated today that she is reconsidering the proposal, saying: «We are not going to make STEM subjects easier, but we must ensure that choosing these subjects is not perceived as a disadvantage.»
