How can you stay productive without burning out? This interactive workshop offers practical strategies for managing focus, energy, and stress throughout the PhD journey. Participants will learn how to recognize early signs of overload, maintain their well-being, and communicate more effectively with supervisors and colleagues. Through reflection and discussion, the workshop provides concrete tools for both academic performance and sustainable mental health.
In the workshop, we will discuss:
- The best practice for working smartly in academia
- Working methods
- Awareness of sustainable workload
- Practical tips on improving your communication with supervisor and other collaborators.
The workshop will be led by Andreas Hillestad Schei, psychologist working with PhD and Mental Health at the University, together with Truls Flønes Lillebø. They have developed and delivered several workshops on mental health and wellbeing in academia, addressing topics including self-care, isolation, supervisor relationships, workload and working effectively with yourself.
After the workshop, we will also go for a walk together, giving us an opportunity to continue the conversation, get some fresh air and spend some time together away from our desks.
We warmly invite the Early Career Community at BIO and associated institutions, as well as all interested staff, to attend.
