Internationalization is about more than student exchange. For the NT Faculty, it is important to build long-term academic partnerships that create lasting opportunities for both education and research. CHARM-EU provides such a platform. Through collaboration with leading European universities, we can develop joint teaching activities, strengthen student mobility, and build relationships that extend beyond individual projects and exchange periods.
Student mobility has often been driven by students finding their own paths between institutions. CHARM-EU offers a more strategic approach, with mobility integrated into long-term collaboration between universities and academic communities. This can create more relevant opportunities for students, stronger academic networks, and closer links between education, research, and international collaboration.
Experiences from the Department of Biological Sciences show how these partnerships can lead to new learning activities, joint courses, and valuable exchanges of expertise. I hope many of you will join the seminar on 30 September (info & registration) to explore how CHARM-EU can help strengthen our educational programmes, expand student mobility, and build lasting academic relationships across Europe.
