Last Wednesday, September 24th, the ECC hosted an autumn Mushroom Hike, and it became a memorable day of learning and sharing together!
The weather was good with clear skies and crisp autumn air, setting the perfect conditions for exploring the forest floor. A group of PhDs and postdocs from BiO and Michael Sars Centre headed together to Nipedalen for a cozy hike at Nipedalen.
Throughout the hike, participants collected and identified different mushroom species, ranging from the familiar to the more unusual. One of the highlights of the day was finding many Cantharellus. It was not only a great way to learn more about local fungi but also a chance to enjoy nature, chat with new people, and welcome the autumn season together.
