CAS announces new trans-Nordic fellowship programme on health and sustainability

Dear CAS friends and partners,

The Centre for Advanced Study (CAS) is pleased to share with our friends and partners the launch of a new trans-Nordic fellowship programme in Health and Sustainability, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

CAS joins forces with our Nordic sister institutes in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden to launch a structured, interdisciplinary training and retention programme for early-career researchers. The programme aims to strengthen Nordic collaboration while fostering long-term academic excellence across the region.

Beyond reinforcing Nordic ties, the initiative will also create new opportunities for collaboration with partner universities and research institutes. CAS will engage research groups across its Norwegian partner universities to collaborate with incoming fellows and support fertilization of ideas across the countries.

You can read more about the programme here.

The programme will award 20 two-year fellowships over the next six years, open to applicants of all nationalities and academic disciplines. The first call for fellowships in the NNF-IAS Fellowship Programme on Health and Sustainability will open in summer 2026, with the application deadline expected in October 2026.

We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.

Sincerely,

Centre for Advanced Study (CAS)
