Dear all –
the One Ocean Week is approaching and it is time to start planning your days from 18th to 24th of April – see the programme here: https://oneoceanweek.no/en/program/#saturday
Most events are open for drop-in, but some require registration. A central event is the One Ocean Summit, starting with a by-invitation-only gathering in Håkonshallen (featuring Crown Prins Haakon, ministers, scientists and politicians) which can be followed live via Bergen Municipality’s YouTube channel. The theme in 2026 is timely: A Safe and Predictable Ocean.
This event is followed by three parallell sessions at the Radisson Blu hotell – and it is still possible to get a seat in one of these sessions:
https://oneoceanweek.no/arrangement/parallel-sessions-one-ocean-summit/ Note that UiB hosts session B – Predicting our blue future (click to see the program). The number of seats are limited, so be quick to register here.
UiB is a main contributor of events to the programme – check it out here: https://www.uib.no/en/ocean/181797/uib-events-during-one-ocean-week-2026
This week marks a celebration of the ocean — be part of the conversation!
Sincerely,
The One Ocean Week committee at UiB
