Join us at BIO for a CDeepSea seminar:“Technological development of low-cost instrumentation for deep-sea research”

presented by Davide Di Bari, Technical Collaborator, Research Infrastructures for Marine Biological Resources Department at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn di Napoli.

📍 Location: BIO (Store Puddefjord)
📅 Date: Thursday, April 30th @ 11.15

Drawing on his work at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Davide will present instrument development, real-world application videos, and practical examples including BRUV systems designed to expand access to deep-sea exploration.

The session also introduces a workflow for building AI-ready datasets, with a live demonstration of image annotation using CVAT. Participants will gain insight into creating annotated image databases for training species-recognition models, with examples from deep-sea environments that can be adapted to other marine settings.

💻 If anyone wants to follow the demonstration on their own computer they can register in advance on the image annotation web system Davide uses: Leading Data Annotation Platform for Images, Videos and 3D | CVAT .
