The Faculty of Science and Technology now offers a growing portfolio of five-year integrated degree programmes, several of them leading to a Master of Science in Engineering. The newest addition is Quantum Technology, while last year we launched the integrated Master´s programme in Geophysics – Meteorology and Oceanography. All of our integrated programmes attract strong student interest and receive a high number of applications. Yet despite this success, awareness of what we offer cannot always be taken for granted.

“Your faculty offers engineering degrees? I didn’t know that.” This was a comment I recently received from an industry partner with offices in Bergen. My first reaction was surprise. But on reflection, it raised an important question: Are we doing enough to communicate who we are, what we do, and how our study portfolio is evolving?

The answer, as is often the case, probably lies somewhere in between. While our activities may seem well known to those of us within the faculty, they are not always as visible to people outside it. The conversation served as a valuable reminder that we need to keep talking about our research, our study programmes, and our students. We should never take awareness for granted, and even our closest partners benefit from regular updates on new opportunities, developments, and changes. As our faculty continues to grow and evolve, so must our efforts to tell our story and highlight the value we create for students, society, and our collaborators.
