Following last year’s success with over 100 attendees from seven different institutions, the BIO Early Career-Community is excited to announce the 2nd annual Early Career Conference and warmly welcome everyone at BIO to attend!
The conference will be held at VilVite the 15th of October and is designed to open a space for wider discourse on biological sciences, focused on the work of early-career scientists. Therefore, we are happy to announce that beyond BIO, the list of attendees includes the Michael Sars Centre, IMR, NORCE, NINA, BioMed, the University Museum, NIBIO, etc.!
The presenting PhDs, postdocs, and early-career research assistants/technicians will host talks and posters on a wide range of topics at various stages of finalization. This will establish an inclusive platform of research dissemination where:
- Early-career scientists can share their work with a broader audience.
- Anyone can gain bite-sized information of ongoing local research efforts from other disciplines/institutions.
- Senior researchers can lend insight to the next generation of scientists.
- Attendees can meet others within Bergen’s sphere of biological sciences.
Besides talks and posters, the conference will also include keynote speeches on AI and science communication, as well as stands from sponsors, including COWI… Lunch & snacks will be provided for all attendees, and the conference will run according to the following preliminary schedule:
- 08:00: Mingling and some morning snacks.
- 09:00 – 16:00: Presentations, Keynote talks, & Poster session.
- 16:00: Prizes and closing remarks.
- Lunch provided around noon. Coffee breaks are interspersed among sessions.
- Conference dinner: A conference dinner will be held for presenters in the evening
