Dear all,

It is full speed ahead on all fronts these day, especially with master’s exams and dissertations. It’s fantastic to see how much is happening, and everyone is involved and contributing. Of course the master’s and PhD students themselves, but also supervisors, research groups, technicians, the administration, and certainly also friends and family, in their own way. Many thanks to everyone for their efforts and congratulations to the students who, after many years of study, can finally provide the final proof that they are highly competent biologists or molecular biologists.

Fire drill at Thormøhlens gate 53A/53B June 6th 2023

Photo: Colourbox

A fire drill was carried out in building 53A/53B on Tuesday 6th June 2023.

Evacuation was fulfilled within 5 minutes, and most of the people meet at the evacuation point by the propeller. It’s important that everyone meets at the propeller, and no one obstructs any emergency vehicles from the fire station. Therefore, next time please take care to stand on the sidewalk next to the propeller, and not in the area meant for vehicles.

New role at BIO

Foto/ill.: Jonathan Soulé

Some of you know me from before as I have walked the hallways at BIO for a while. My name is Ragnhild Gya, and I finished my masters on plant ecology in 2017 which was a part of my teacher education (lektorutdanning).

Four new excellent teaching practitioners (ETPs) from BIO!

F.v.: Anne Bjune, Vigdis Vandvik, Jorun Nyléhn og Sehoya Cotner

BIO already has three ETPs (Excellent Teaching Practitioners) from before who are members of the pedagogical academy at the faculty. Yesterday, four new ones from BIO received this title. I congratulate Sehoya, Jorun, Anne and Vigdis on this prestigious appointment and thank them for the efforts they make to strengthen the teaching and educational quality at BIO.
