AQUARIUS project – two training opportunities for early-career scientists and technicians

Two financed training opportunities for early-career scientists and technicians – the AQUARIUS project:

  1. AQUARIUS internships call

The AQUARIUS internships for early career scientists, technicians, PhD students, MSc students and post-docs working in marine and freshwater sciences are open for applications. This is an opportunity to join and learn from international scientific teams utilising AQUARIUS research infrastructures to advance their marine and freshwater research. Applications are open from 1 February 2024 to 1 February 2027. Ship time and access to research infrastructures are financed by AQUARIUS, with travel and subsistence costs reimbursed up to a specified limit.

  1. PLOCAN Glider School

The PLOCAN Glider School is a leading training programme in marine glider technology held annually by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN). It is aimed at university students in marine-maritime and technological fields as well as technicians and professionals in the sector. The school provides hands-on training, equipping participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for working with unmanned ocean vehicles such as gliders. Each annual edition of the PLOCAN Glider School accepts only 15 students selected through a merit-based process in accordance with quality certification criteria. Applications are open from 1 February 2024 to 30 April 2027. The cost of the Glider School is reimbursed by AQUARIUS, with travel and subsistence costs reimbursed up to a specified limit.
