Monday marked the official start of the academic year. It is always a pleasure to welcome our new students. The mentoring programme is a particularly important part of the introduction process, and we see that students who take advantage of it tend to spend more time on campus, build connections across different study programmes, and settle into student life more quickly and successfully. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to giving our new students such a positive start!
Arendalsuka took place from Monday to Thursday. The University of Bergen both hosted and participated in a number of engaging debates and discussions. Our faculty contributed with strong academic events on topics including quantum technology, land-use neutrality, polar research, and climate. Arendalsuka is an important meeting place for politicians, representatives from across society, and the business community, and it is one of many valuable arenas for sharing our knowledge and expertise. Thank you to all our talented colleagues who took part and represented the faculty so well!
