Kjære alle,
Kong Harald V skal begraves onsdag 9.september kl. 13. I den nasjonale veilederen i forbindelse med Kongens bortgang presiseres det at Gravferdsdagen ikke er en offisiell fridag, men den enkelte skole, det enkelte studiested og den enkelte arbeidsgiver kan vurdere om det er mulig å la elever, studenter og arbeidstakere følge gravferden gjennom TV-sendingene.

I den forbindelse ønsker UiB å legge til rette for at studenter og ansatte kan følge begravelsen. UiB avlyser derfor all undervisning og møter den 9.september i tidsrommet kl. 12-15.
På gravferdsdagen minnes kong Harald med ett minutts stillhet over hele landet fra kl. 13.00 til kl. 13.01. Stillheten innledes med tre klokkeslag fra alle landets kirker. Når minuttet er gått, markerer tre nye klokkeslag stillhetens avslutning.

Dear all,
the funeral for King Harald V will take place on Wednesday, 9 September, at 1:00 PM. The national guidance issued following the King’s passing emphasizes that the day of the funeral is not an official public holiday. However, individual schools, higher education institutions, and employers may consider arrangements that enable pupils, students, and employees to follow the funeral through the live television broadcasts.

To facilitate this, the University of Bergen (UiB) will suspend all teaching activities and meetings on 9 September from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, allowing students and staff the opportunity to follow the funeral.
On the day of the funeral, King Harald will be commemorated with one minute of silence across Norway from 1:00 PM to 1:01 PM. The observance will begin with three tolls of church bells from churches throughout the country. At the conclusion of the minute of silence, three further bell tolls will mark its end.
