We are pleased to announce that OIKOS Norway 2027, the national conference of the Norwegian Ecological Society (NØF),
will be held in Bergen on 9-11 February 2027.
Program in a nutshell
- Tuesday 9 February 2027: workshops and opening reception
- Wednesday 10 February 2027: conference day 1, poster session and conference dinner
- Thursday 11 February 2027: conference day 2
Call for session proposals
Oikos Norway 2027 will host 2-3 parallel oral sessions on conference days 1 and 2 (10-11 February). We invite you to propose sessions within terrestrial, aquatic or marine ecology.
Session proposals are due by 7 September 2026, and should include the following information:
- The name of at least one co-organizer.
- An informative session title.
- Your best estimate of the number of attendees, based on your knowledge of the topic and of individuals who would be interested.
- A short session description (< 300 words)
- The desired format (talks/posters/both).
- Up to five keywords.

Call for workshop proposals
Oikos Norway 2027 also plan to host two to four parallel 1-day workshops on 9 February. We encourage workshop proposals on thematic areas within ecology, biodiversity,
conservation or nature management, or with a focus on research careers in ecology.
Workshop proposals are due by 7 September 2026, and should include the following information:
- The name of main organizer
- An informative workshop title.
- Enter your best estimate of the number of attendees, based on your knowledge of the topic and of individuals who would be interested.
- A workshop description and target audience.
- Duration – half or full day.
- Any room requirements

Student stipends
Student stipends are available, up to 5000 NOK each. To be eligible, you must be a Master student at a Norwegian institution and a member of NØF,
with an accepted abstract for a talk or poster. To apply for a stipend, fill in this form.
Master students can get a free NØF membership by sending their student-documentation to anders.opdal@uib.no.
Stipend applications are handled on a first come, first served basis. Applicants will be notified of the outcome before the registration deadline.
