International research team with Mari H. Eilertsen and Christian Nilsson, discovers a potential source of abiotic methane in the Arctic Ocean.

BIO researcher Mari Heggernes Eilertsen and BIO PhD fellow Christian Nilsson are currently aboard the Kronprins Haakon research vessel, participating in the EXTREME25 expedition exploring the Arctic’s extreme ecosystems.

The international team lead by the Arctic University of Norway has reported a remarkable discovery of a venting system on the seafloor of the Arctic.
