My name is Léa, and I am responsible for the communication and media of the Bergen branch of Pint of Science Norway. Pint of Science (PoS)’s focus is to bring science closer to people on a local level with an informal atmosphere. Pint of Science Norway started some years ago as a part of the international group PoS based in the UK.
The main event we are organising is the PoS festival, which takes place simultaneously in different cities worldwide. We provide the opportunity for local researchers to introduce their research to the public in an engaging, understandable, and fun way, usually in the relaxed atmosphere of a bar. Long story short: it’s a chance to spotlight researchers, let them unleash creative genius, and share their excitement about what they do with others while sounding «less like a scientist».

We are reaching out this year to research institutes to recruit speakers for the 2025 PoS festival. This year’s festival will take place on May 19th-21st.
