Hello everyone!

My name is Jeanne, a new post-doc at BIO involved in the DURIN project as part of the Between the Fjords research group supervised by Pr Vigdis Vandvik. I recently moved from Belgium to the beautiful city of Bergen and started working on January 2. During my post-doc, I will be focusing on dwarf-shrubs and how to implement them as a new plant functional type into the CLM-FATES land-surface model to better understand their role and contribution in the feedbacks from terrestrial vegetation to the global climate system. To do so, I will be taking advantage of the enhanced understanding achieved through the other work packages of the project. I have been previously working in dendroclimatology at the UCLouvain in Belgium. The objective of my thesis was to improve large-scale climate reconstructions with global tree-ring width observations by including an ecophysiological model into a probabilistic dynamic method (data assimilation), combining climate model physics from an Earth System Model and paleoclimate observations. I am very happy to start this new journey in ecology!

I look forward to meeting you!
